Sacred Heart Collection
Approximately 75 books and pamphlets on the Society of Sacred Heart of Jesus, the order of nuns that founded Manhattanville College as a Catholic boarding school for girls in 1841.
A small collection concerning the history of the former Westchester estate on which Manhattanville College is now located. The estate was originally owned by Ben Holladay, stagecoach entrepreneur, and later purchased by Reid, publisher of the The New York Herald Tribune.
