This comprehensive and authoritative source combines the full text of The Dictionary of Art (1996, 34 volumes) and The Oxford Companion to Western Art (2001). It includes 45,000 articles of varying length with bibliographies and provides coverage of all aspects of the visual arts worldwide. The links to searchable image databases offer over 40,000 art images on museum and gallery web sites around the world.

Art Images for College Teaching

AICT is intended to disseminate images of art and architectural works in the public domain to all levels of the educational community. The images have been photographed on location by the author, Allan T. Kohl, and include detailed information, including textbook citations. The emphasis is on ancient, medieval, and Renaissance European art and architecture with some examples of post-Renaissance and "non-Western" works.
