Mary Ann Reilly, an Associate Professor in the Department of Literacy at Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York, teaches courses in K-12 literacy. Previously she worked as an assistant superintendent and literacy leader for urban public school districts, such as Newark Public Schools in New Jersey and has also taught at the primary, middle and secondary levels.
Dr. Reilly has presented at state, national and international conferences and has published scholarly articles in journals produced by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the International Reading Association (IRA). Her research interests include practices related to new literacies/new technologies, issues related to social justice and performative pedagogy, and the use of multicultural literature. Along with Manhattanville College professor Jane Gangi, Dr. Reilly is writing a book that employs case study methodology to examine how teachers integrate language arts, science, social studies, and the fine and performing arts.
