María José Luján is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies. She received her B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Murcia, Spain. She has been teaching at Manhattanville College as a Lecturer since 1977, and as an Assistant Professor since 2003. She also teaches courses in language, Peninsular literature and civilization, and Peninsular and Latin American film. She has published two articles about erotic literature writen by women in Spain. Since her area of interest is the Spanish literature written by women, at present, she is researching in Central American literature, specifically in the Nicaraguan Rosario Aguilar’s complete works, and she is planning to make a comparative research between these books and the films about them.
