Mary “Corky” Treacy Thompson ’61, a lifetime resident of Scarsdale, N.Y. received the Scarsdale Bowl Award for her exemplary service to the community. Corky recently retired as executive director of the Westchester Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and head of the Westchester County chapter of Financial Service Professionals. She moved to Aurora, Colo. in July.

Fran B. Cox ’62 recently exhibited her wire sculptures and pastels at The Port of Call Gallery in Warwick, N.Y. She has also had her own show at the Brooklyn Museum, and has been exhibited throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Mary Bricker Jenkins ’63, a professor at Temple University’s School of Social Administration, was named Social Worker of the Year by the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.

Margaret C. “Peggy” Lutz ’63 was named president of the Western Connecticut Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. In the past, she served as senior vice president of the Community Health Charities of Connecticut.

Mary Masterson Germain ’63, an associate professor at The College of Nursing at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center, has retired as a full colonel from the Army Nurse Corps, United States Army Reserve. In 2001, she was inducted into the National Academy of Nursing Practice as distinguished practitioner.

Honor Ulveling ’63 competes as a ski racer on the National Standard Race (NASTAR) course at Winter Park, Colorado, where she is ranked #1 in her age group (60-64). She also is ranked #10 nationally.

Sila Maria Calderon ’64, governor of Puerto Rico, received an honorary Ph.D. and the Presidential Medal from Hunter College in New York City, where she gave the 2003 commencement address. In June, she announced that she will not seek re-election in order to spend more time with her family.

Maureen Scannell Bateman ’64 was honored by the Patriots’ Trail Girl Scout Council, as one of nine leading women in the greater Boston area. Maureen is currently executive vice president and general counsel of State Street Corporation.

Diane Roberto ’64, is founder and principal of the Horizon Montessori School in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. She strives to set a good example for her students, while teaching them to help each other and themselves.

Sr. Dorothy Metz M.A. ’67 was elected president of the Sisters of Charity of New York, after having served as regional coordinator and a member of the community’s executive council since 1995. She has taught math and religion at both the elementary and secondary levels in archdiocesan schools.

Judge Mary Elizabeth Lupo ’68 received the first Jurist of the Year Award from the North County Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association in Florida. Through her work, Mary spends time with prisoners who are in rehabilitation programs.

As president, CEO and founder of GuilfordPare, Marcia P. DeWitt ’69 has been busy building her company into the nation’s leading financial consulting firm specializing in worker’s compensation. The Girl Scouts Council of Central Maryland named Marcia its 2003 Distinguished Woman of the Year.
